Why Do Some People Blush More Frequently Than Others?

Blushing is brought about by a mental trigger; a thought, subconcious or conscious, which causes an emotional response that is reflected upon ones face. All thoughts that cause blushing are considered self-conscious. All blushers are sensitive to the opinion of other people. Sometimes people blush when they feel like they have done something which can make others think badly of them.

For someone with a frequent blushing problem, even the thought that someone is about to judge them is enough to make them blush. You might say that for the kind of person that is hypersensitive to others opinions or judgement, that this the main cause of their blushing.

Excessive blushing is technically genetic (the sensitivity part at least). There are people who are shameless, and others who feel naturally shameful in situations. Shameless persons usually don't care what other people think of them, and others opinions are irrelevant. Shameful people are highly sensitive to the idea of others thinking about them. This type of personality is what makes one more prone to blushing.
